Animal Print - In or Out?

It’s no surprise that at a time when the world at large is questioning what it means to be a strong woman, leopard print has popped up as a runaway trend at shows from Prada to Givenchy.
Looking at Hillary Clinton in her thigh-grazing coats and wide-leg pants is making us think about what it means to power dress in 2016.
Where it began: When Europeans began colonizing Asia and Africa in the 18th century, they brought home the skins of the leopards, tigers, and zebras that they found there. Those exotic patterns were soon reproduced on fabrics (for the über-rich, of course), leaving their mark on clothing and decor. Two centuries later, sex symbols like Lauren Bacall and Marilyn Monroe harnessed the prints’ come-hither magnetism.
Why it keeps coming back: Animal prints are like neutrals—they’re made up of brown, beige, and black, after all. “They’re season-less, and you can wear them with almost anything,”
Plus, they add a little edge to your wardrobe.
So here, I paired up this bright white shirt with these beautiful velvety leopard print pants.
I believe a certain part of the whole look should be kept simple.
In this look the shirt is neutralising the loud appeal of the pants!
I paired them with this red and cheetah print clutch/sling bag and added some colour pop to my face with Lakme Enrich Satin lipstick in the shade R-352.
To complete the look I wore these yellow and black snake print stilettos.
Done and dusted!
Hope you like it.
Until next time,
